Overview

Z3 — Violin Tone Shaper and Booster

The Z3 is a dedicated tonal enhancement unit for violin instruments with piezo pickups. Its architecture combines precision gain control with musical, tape-style harmonic coloration — designed to bring depth, warmth, and smoothness to otherwise sterile, dull or sharp piezo signals.

It includes high-impedance preamps optimized for both high- and low-capacitance piezo systems, along with a dedicated line input for active instruments or external effects. Core controls — BoostTone, and Master Volume — provide a refined balance of saturation and clarity.

The Z3 features a dedicated five-band EQ for precise tone-shaping that extends beyond what’s typically available in instrument boosters. Each band is tuned to musically relevant frequency ranges for violin, allowing precise control over body warmth, midrange focus, and high-end attack.

The Chopper section introduces two tonal modes: Soft, maintaining natural articulation, and Crunch, emphasizing harmonic texture and percussive attack.

With the Interface Lock system, players can store and recall knob settings instantly during a performance, while Edit mode allows selective unlocking of individual knobs for on-the-fly adjustments.

The unit supports both true bypass and digital bypass (for consistent impedance handling). The Z3 maintains sub-2 ms input-to-output latency and transparent signal integrity, finely optimized for violins.

Every circuit is purpose-tuned for professional violinists seeking refined coloration, controlled warmth, and reliable stage behavior — not just amplification.
